"Chasing the Dark" Release party is a success!

Here are a few snapshots from the release party and exhibition in Seoul, South Korea, on December 17th, 2011. Soojin Kwon displayed her illustrations and also premiered her animation for "Dreaming of New York." (See video link below.) I played songs from "Chasing the Dark" as well as some cover songs. The location was perfect, the crowd was full of friendly faces. I couldn't have asked for a better night!

Show at Play Cafe YUP - Friday, Nov. 11,2011 @ 8PM

I will be playing a set at Play Cafe, which is a really neat new art cafe in Hongdae. It is also where we will have our CD release party next month! Come relax, have a warm beverage and enjoy this cool new place. There is no cover!

I will attach a map. But basically, go out Hongdae Station, Exit 1. Walk straight, cross the first big intersection. Then you will see a small side street on your right. (It's the next crosswalk.) Turn right and walk straight. You should see Play Cafe in front of you. You will know because you will see a fisher man sitting on the roof! That's the place.

Plus this guy, who I don't know, has lots of nice things to say about YUP :

Introducing "Red Couch Covers"

I've decided to start a new vlog called "Red Couch Covers" because it's cover songs and my couch is red. See what I did there?

Anyway, I will attempt to cover a different song and upload it each week, counting-down to the release of "Chasing the Dark" on Dec. 17th, 2011.

In episode #1, I cover "Bizarre Love Triangle" which will also be on "Chasing the Dark."

Stay tuned every week to see which song I will cover next!

"Chasing the Dark" is finally in production!

Since my last post, almost a year ago!, a lot of things have happened in my life and the lives of those around me. That being said, I had to put the dream of the album on the side for a while. But now I'm back and ready to go!

First off, the album has been shortened to an EP. It will be called "Chasing the Dark." It will look like this:

There will be five songs, in this order:

1. Tangled
2. Chasing the Dark
3. Bizarre Love Triangle
4. Last Year's Snow
5. Dreaming of New York

Are you excited yet????

Then go to kickstarter.com to donate toward my project. I'm trying to raise $1,000 to help cover the cost of producing the first run of CDs.

Wait there's more! Here is the music video for the first single, created by Kirk Fisher and Meghan Fitzgerald.

XOXO - Leslie

P.S. Here's one more of Soojin's drawings for the lyric book. (Just enough to get you interested.)

Broken Links

I'm not sure whats going on, but all the MP3 links seem to be down. Argh. I wish I had a tech support department.

In other news, I am actually busy recording this week. I've gotten 5 songs down, and have about 6 more to go. I wish I could post them as I finish, but seeing how the links aren't working, I guess I will have to wait.

"Chasing the Dark"

Ok. Here's what I did with "Chasing the Dark" today. Don't know why I felt like making it so dramatic. Haha. I might take down the reverb later, but for now, I think I like it. Also, I did purchase a bass guitar, so when it arrives, I can add a bass track!

We're coming to America!

So, here I am in America.

Though I'm not recording, I am still quite busy. I'm gonna play my first show in the U.S.A. It will be an interesting change to talk to an audience that speaks my language. I only have a cheap blue guitar that I thought was the bee's knees in high school. Now I can see that it kinda sucks. But I will play it with love and hope for the best.

Also, while here, I've been shopping for a bass guitar. I think a bass would be great to add more depth to my recordings. The only catch is, how do I get it back to Korea? Oh and, I don't really know how to play bass. But these details won't distract me for long.

Hope everyone is staying safe and warm this winter. Lots of love, Leslie
